Walt attended Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, graduating with a BA in physical education and a minor in music in 1965. He also holds an MDiv degree from Anderson School of Theology. In 2000, he received a DMin degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in the areas of church growth and church planting. Walt holds the MCC credential (Master Certified Coach) from the International Coach Federation.
Professional Experience: For about 35 years Walt served churches in pastoral ministry, including 10 years as a lead pastor. He served on a limited basis as a church consultant for about 12 years, before changing to a coaching role. He is an instructor and mentor coach with Creative Results Management and with Coaching4Clergy. Walt has recently been accepted on the staff of One Challenge, and he will be creating coach training for that organization. He is the Director of Credentialing for two coaching organizations – the Colorado ICF Chapter and CCNI (Christian Coaches Network Int.
Walt has always been involved in athletics of various kinds, such as track, cross-country and wrestling in college. He has completed 10 marathons and has climbed mountains, including all 54 of Colorado’s “fourteeners”, and is working on the top 200 peaks in the state. He and his wife also enjoy camping, travel and cruises.
